CROSSTECH PROFESSIONAL TORCH™ TIPS can be used with any pressure regulator we have made since 1978 or on any "Quick Disconnect" handle by using our low cost ADP100 adapter. The photo to the left shows 10 of our tips with the ADP1000 adapters. See Wholesaler Info page for the part numbers of torch tips supplied with the ADP1000 adapter. Once our customer owns an ADP1000 adapter, any of our tips will fit on the adapter. The adapter only needs to be purchased once. General Regulator, Inc. has been manufacturing a wide range of torch tips since 1978. Today we have a total of 10 torch tips. For many years we had just 4 torch tip models, the TT100, TT2000, TT2100 and TT3000 tips. These tips do all the jobs a contractor would encounter in his daily work. These torch tips have a proven history in field use in very harsh environments and rough handling by both the plumbing and HVAC professionals. In 1994 General Regulator, Inc. introduced the self igniting versions of these torch tips with our CROSSTECH 357™ Electronic Ignition. Our philosophy was to provide the same reliability and performance as the TT100, TT2000, TT2100 and TT3000 tips. These tips were engineered by General Regulator, Inc. using computer aided design software which reduced the time to market. The Electronic Ignition assembly on the torch tip is larger then any of our competitors. This is because we built our own double piezoelectric crystal assembly to provide 20,000 volts of Igniting Power. Our competitors us a low cost, piezoelectric assembly such as the Panasonic "ML-25" which is used in cigarette lighters. We didn't want to design and build a product which would wear out in normal use. Yes our product is big, but it doesn't wear out and it lights properly all the time. The CROSSTECH 357™ tips have the same proven high reliability as our torches without Electronic Ignition. In 1999 we introduced our two new solder clean out tips: TT2000CLO and TT2100CLO. We designed these products because the contractors were getting solder into our tips and they would damaged the tips when trying to get solder out of them. The contractors would return the torches to the wholesaler claiming they were defective. We have had excellent field results since the product introductions in September 1999. The TT3000 torch tip was upgraded in January 2006 to the TM3000CLO torch design. It is used for very heavy duty brazing and soldering. |
